Finally the long awaited interview from DMV up and coming rapper Kay Pharaoh. I had a chance to go out to Maryland to sit and catch up with him while in the studio working on some songs. He sat and talked to me about his name, his influence and what the heck is up with his swag. Check it out below:

The Patrice Tales: So tell me about youself. Where you from,schools and etc...

Kay Pharaoh: Iam straight from the D.M.V N.W.(NorthWest) for sure but I rep for my city and the whole East side and whoever I fuck with and whoever fuck with me I also love the Greenbay Packers. As far as the schools I went to well... I went to plenty of different schools but the most recent are JFK highschool in Maryland and Elenore Roosevelt that is where I graduated from shouts out too ER!!!! ....As far as college Iam considering Art, Business Marketing and Management schools to proceed and excel in this business as best as possible....


The Patrice Tales: So what made you start to rap?

Kay Pharaoh: It's always been my dream ....Well back in the day when I was an ol' young boy I used too just BS around and bust a couple freestyles wit my bros until I noticed an higher talent worth perusing
so that's when I start writing and it been a closed curtain from there, tell nowand tell death. I love music!


The Patrice Tales: Who are your influences and why?

Kay Pharaoh: Well I got many,but I'm just going name a few: ME, the listeners, Lil-Wayne, JayZ ,SouljaBoy and Lupe-Fiasco,Warren Buffet, Oprah and Bill-Gates these people influences because they are smart and know what they their doing and how to make money. I look up to people who
know how to get money the legal way and know how to keep it growing and not decreasing... 1up!!!


The Patrice Tales: How you did you come up with your stage name Kay Pharaoh?

Kay Pharaoh: Well im a Big Fan of Egypt and Africa im kinda obsessed wit the whole Egyptian old dynasty pharaoh, pyramid and thing. Iam a little Egyptology on the low foreal,but Kay stands for my government name so then I figured one day I should put pharaoh behind that and the name stuck ...I also got a.k.a's yung-killa,Kay-money and yung hester $wag

The Patrice Tales: How do you define your rap style? What makes you different from others?

Kay Pharaoh: My style is like a wild fire in a dry forest...ain't too much that gonna stop it when it is at it's full height...which makes me different from other artist is that Iam original,creative,and I'm bringing a new swag and style they have never seen before just stay tuned.

The Patrice Tales: Notice you say Swag alot. What is your definition of swag?

Kay Pharaoh: Well only you your self can define your own swag. Swag is just a word for you being as your own demeanour. What you see when you look into the mirror thats what I think swag means in my world!! I don't know what the other earthlings think of it ..

The Patrice Tales: Ha! Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

Kay Pharaoh: On stage touring the country with my posse as my dreams tell me and in the studio making music for every one to hear and enjoy as I should.

The Patrice Tales: Do you have any albums or mixtapes out???

The Patrice Tales: I see that you rap with others or friends. Are you in a group as well?

Kay Pharaoh: Well me im a Solo Artist and so is everybody dat rap wit me we just like making songs together sort of like Odd Future we are group who look out for each other and make music but we are all solo but our group name iz Guru-Gang/Smash bro scoeent....all copyrighted you hear me $wag

The Patrice Tales: What you like to do when not rapping?

Kay Pharaoh: Smoke,smoke ,smoke,write raps,party,play sports,watch movies,eat, shower, swag, oh the bait(females) and look good!!!

The Patrice Tales: Do you wanna give any shout outs?
